What is the attire?
The attire is “Mountain Cocktail,” meaning cocktail attire suited for an outdoor, mountain setting. This can mean cocktail or midi dresses, suits, or sport coats. Ties optional. We welcome a western flair!
It will likely be warm during the day and cool to cold at night, so plan to layer. The venue is outdoors, so choose footwear that can handle uneven terrain.
Are children allowed?
While we adore your little ones, we’re planning a 16+ celebration and hope you enjoy a night off with us!
When will wedding invitations be sent out?
The full invitation will be sent out by mail in May.
How do I get to Basalt from Denver, Colorado?
Basalt is a three hour drive from Denver. Renting a car and making the scenic drive on I-70 is a great option. There is also a daily bus service from Union Station in Denver. For the bridal party, we can also pair you with one of our many friends making the drive from Denver to Basalt on Thursday or Friday.
Are there closer airports I can fly into other than Denver International Airport?
Aspen airport is the closest, and is less than 30 minutes away from Basalt. Other airport options include the Eagle County and the Grand Junction regional airports, which are approximately an hour and a half away from Basalt.
Are there AirBnBs in the area?
If you’re deciding where to stay, the hotels are the most convenient option—they’re walkable to the venue and where most guests will be.
As a quick personal note, my (Gray's) Master’s thesis focused on this community and the impact of short-term rentals on local housing availability and affordability, so it’s something I care about and try to be mindful of.
That being said, there are some (albeit limited) short-term rentals in the area, and we want all of our guests to find accommodations that work best for them. Either way, we’re just excited to celebrate with you and hope you have a great stay!
How do I get around once I'm there?
If you do not have a personal vehicle with you for the weekend, do not fret! The hotels and venue are walkable to one another, as well as to many shops, restaurants, and services that you may need. The region also has a superb bus transit system, and was also recently added to Uber's service area.
